Toyota launches latest Hilux model

Toyota unveils its new Hilux model, promising a tougher, safer and more stylish version of the iconic pick-up.

The new Toyota Hilux has landed in showrooms across the country, with commercial vehicle on-the-road prices from £20,424 for the Active Single Cab AWD.

With the pick-up style van becoming an increasingly popular alternative to large SUVs, Toyota claims to have combined the everyday practicality of the pick-up with improved safety and a little more style.

Safety appears to be a top priority for the Hilux, with Toyota Safety Sense now available across the range, including a Pre Collision System that recognises pedestrians in the road ahead in both day and night time. This is in addition to Toyota's Lane Departure Warning and Road Sign Assist.

The 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine has also been updated with an eco stop-start, available with both a manual or a five-speed automatic gearbox, to boost fuel economy and reduce emissions.

If you're in the market for a pick-up that's sleeker in its design, Toyota has refreshed the interior and exterior look of the classic Hilux.

With a nod to all-important practicality, the entry-level Active Single and Extra Cab models now come with easy-care PVC seats and flooring for drivers looking to put their van though its paces.

At the top of the range, the Invincible model's exterior features smoked chrome detailing, fog light bezels, door mirror casings and 18-inch alloy wheels.

For added practicality, the Active Single and Extra Cab are also fitted with easy-care PVC seats and flooring.

While the Toyota Hilux isn't the cheapest of its type, it's certainly a compelling option for those in need of a professional pick-up.
