Friday, December 3 2010

The BCA is reporting an end of the year upswing in LCV stock during the traditional slow time for many businesses. According to the BCA, the end of 2010 is witnessing sudden, major rise in LCV stock available on the market.

Most of the vehicles have reached the marketplace way ahead of the planned de-fleet time for the vehicles because of the economic situation that has fell upon operators. The new influx of vehicles is in addition to high volumes of vehicles that came from the corporate and leasing sector.

Duncan Ward, General Manager of BCA – Commercial vehicles commented that after months of a market where LCV’s where sparse, there is now an abundance of stock just when demand is decreasing before the up-coming Christmas break.

On a more positive note, according to the BCA Market Overview:
Small panel vans are still in high demand. The demand for old shape Dispatch and Expert is still high.
With a hundreds to pick from, a small percentage of clean car sized vans with low mileage continue to do good in the current market. Winter always bodes well for Land Rovers, both SWB and LWB station wagons are in high demand at the moment. The snow and ice this time of year helps the Land Rover sector.

Even though the amount of stock of LCV’s is rising, it appears that it is not all bad news, with the car sized vans, small panel vans, and Land Rover sector still in demand.
