According to a poll conducted by Swinton Commercial, van drivers in the UK are spending an average of two hours online searching for a van insurance quote; Swinton surveyed 1000 of their customers to gather this data. In this study Swinton found that van drivers were spending more of their time on the internet looking for van insurance than they were at this time during the previous year. In the month of October last year, motorist on the average spent an average of an hour and a half searching for their insurance.
The Van Insurer is the UK’s fastest growing van insurance comparison site.
In recent years, the time that drivers took looking for van insurance has seen a major drop, with each year seeing a five to fifteen minute decrease. However, 2009 has seen the pendulum swing in the other direction, with more people trying to find the cheapest van insurance available. According to Swinton, this change in trend could be due to people facing financial duress due to the current recession.
Phil Moss of Swinton, stated that the increasing amount of internet usage and accessibility has had a huge impact on the car insurance industry, with drivers being able to get a quote anywhere in a short amount of time.
In this current economic climate, this trend could very well continue, as people are forced to try to be as thrifty as possible. With many agencies offering van insurance, it is a competitive market, which is good news for folks in search of van insurance.
