There happens to be a unique and rather complex group of compliance issues and legislative problems that are facing down utility corporations and their contractors. This is the result of the diversity of their fleets and also the distinct nature of their fleets and the secondary part that commercial vehicles have in the jobs that their workers perform.

Managers in the industry will be given a chance at the conference to make sure that they are fully educated in the latest and the coming transport legislation and the enforcement developments, plus the opportunity to share best practice with others that are involved in the utilities sector.

The event will be chaired by Tim Blakemore, Commercial Vehicle Engineer editor, and will include a Vehicle and Operator Services Agency presentation that will be on their latest roadside enforcement activity that impact the utilities sector and also on developments in their testing programme and trends in MOT pass rates within the utilities industry.

Additional topics that will be dealt with at the conference include:
Advancements in technology in the safety of vehicles.
Small trailer and plant safety inspections.
The outsourcings of maintenance jobs.
The best things to do to prevent theft.
Alternate technology for vehicles.
