British Gas will be receiving a 343 Ford Transit medium wheelbase vans along with 60 Ford Transits all-wheel-drive models to reinforce their fleet as the United Kingdom is experiencing another brutal winter.

The additional Transits will bring the number of Ford Transits in the British Gas Fleet to in excess of 1000; the new Transits will be adorned with the British Gas corporate colours. The added Ford Transits are part of a replacement programme that is being implemented by British Gas, a programme that will allow British Gas engineers to perform an average of 10,000 calls each day, which will provide help to 12 million households and businesses throughout the country.
The Transits will be tactically placed across Britain to assist British Gas to attain even greater attendance rates at households and businesses who are facing heating difficulties during the harsh winter conditions.
Colin Marriot, who serves as General Manager of the British Gas Fleet remarked that British Gas has been utilizing Ford Transits for several years and that the Transits had proven to be very reliable. Marriot hailed Ford for offering well-engineered vans that come with great after-sales service, which makes Ford vans the best choice for the British Gas’s expanding fleet.
Kevin Griffin, who serves as the Director of Fleet operations for Ford of Britain stated that it was reassuring to know that British Gas that supplies such vital support to their customers, especially during extreme weather conditions has put their trust in the Ford Transit. Griffin went on to say that British Gas having 1000 Ford Transits in their fleet is a testimony to the popularity and reliability of the van.
