Switch to electric for fleet cost savings

Friday, January 25 2013

A recent report on the Plugged-in Fleets Initiative has demonstrated how making the switch to an electric vehicle really could save money, especially if you are a fleet operator. According to the report, costs could be reduced by as much as 75% ¬†simply by changing to the new ‘fuel';while those who have daily duty cycles of less than 80 miles could find that a wholly electric fleet would fulfil their needs on one charge.

The Initiative’s main aim was to attempt to answer the question of whether or not electric vehicles provide a better overall deal for fleets. So far, several major companies have taken the Initiative on, including Boots, the London Fire Brigade, and Network Rail to name but a few.
