In a poll of taken of a group of Swinton Commercial customers, the Mercedes Sprinter was revealed to be the most favoured, five full percentage points above the Ford Transit van.

In Swinton’s yearly poll of favourite makes of bans, the Mercedes Sprinter has taken the most favoured van position away from the Ford Transit van. The poll found that 31 per cent of those polled preferred the Mercedes Sprinter as their favourite van. While the Ford Transit lost it’s spot as the most favourite van, it still came in second place, with 26 percent preferring the Ford Transit; additionally, another Ford product was in the top three listings of most favoured vans, the Ford Courier with 21 per cent preferring this Ford product. With two vehicles in the top three positions of favourite vans, Ford was the only van manufacturer to have two vehicles in the top five favoured vans.

The Mercedes Sprinter with 31 per cent
The Ford Transit with 21 per cent
The Ford Courier with 21 per cent
The Vauxhall Transporter with 16 per cent
The Renault Traffic Panel with 6 percent
Other findings of the survey found that with 19 per cent of van drivers an electric van was an option if the price was right.
