Thatcham, a research group for the insurance industry, stated that the 2009 Security awards recognized the Peugeot 207 as the securest light van, the Renault Trafic as the securest heavy van and the Mitsubishi L200 as the securest pickup.

Other vans that were recognized at 2009 Security Awards were from Citroen, the Berlingo 2008 and from Nissan, the Primastar and the Cabster.

Phil Moss, who is over the Commercial Vehicle department for Swinton said that van drivers who install security features can have a positive effect in regard to their insurance premiums; and that by shopping around, customers should be able to find a secure van with a decent premium to go along with it.
