Sales of LPG Vans Rose Late Summer/Early Part of 2009

Monday, February 8 2010

Anchor Vans, one of Berkshire’s top vendors of used vans, reported a rise in the sale of petrol LPG vans; this is thought to be the result of the recent price increases of fuel and van drivers trying to save money on the cost of the London congestion charge in the midst of a recession. It is believed that these two factors have been behind the increase in sales of LPG vans back in the fall.

Simon Joyce of Anchor Vans commented that the rise in sales duel van fuels during 2009 was very notable, and that while there are obvious environmental advantages to driving a low emission vehicle, he believed the main reason behind the trend was the need for people to save money. Simon noted that fuel prices had been creeping up and that the price of oil had stayed comparatively high after shooting up a year ago, and that this was one of the major motivating factors. He believed another factor was that businesses who deliver in the London congestion charge zone who utilize commercial vehicles were seeking for a way to be economical during the recession; since duel fuel vehicles that emit low emissions are exempt, that can be quite a savings of money.

Anchor’s micro site that is dedicated to Ford vans saw many searches for Petrol LPG vans, when asked if buying a duel fuel van could help save a substantial amount of money, Simon said that the savings on congestion charges would cover the cost of a LPG van over a four year period.
