With an increase of 1.8 points to a 5.2 per cent market share for total number of car and van sales, Renault achieved the biggest gains in the United Kingdom during March’s peak registration period when compared to last year at the same time. Renault made an impressive gain with the total sum of car and van sales last month; their total sales for March were 22,711, which were up by 10,943 units. This gain by in sales for Renault placed them fifth in the sales charts.

In addition to Renault’s impressive sales numbers, they also shined as one of the leaders in private retail car sales. Having a total of 11,347 registrations, and a 77 per cent rise in volume when compared to this same period last year, the Renault brand’s penetration increased by 1.3 percentage points to 5.3 per cent.
The total sales of cars and vans for 2010 so far has beenĀ 33,234, or a 5 per cent market share, and just private retail alone has reached a significant 5.2 per cent. This means that Renault UK is where it needs to be to reach its 5 per cent market share for cars and vans as is outlined in its current Destination Five project.
Renault is positioned to reassert their revived market confidence in the months to come with the sales of new models including a revitalised van range.
