RAF Odiham Select the Latest Ford Minibus for Their Community

The RAF base Odiham, recently acquired a new Transit 17-seat minibus to meet the transport needs of those who are stationed at the Odiham base, Farnborough, Hants, and to help their families as well.

Justin Fowler, who commands the base support wing, received the Ford Transit minibus in the stead of the Service Institute Fund from Inchcape Ford, a nearby transit dealership located in Farnborough.

The Odiham RAF base regularly has a deployment of about 200 personal that are considered active duty personal, from a base that is home to around 1,600. Operational life at the base, with all its pressures are heightened at the base, so in order to alleviate some of the pressure, the RAF raised the needed funds to purchase the Ford minibus. Peter Johnson, who is employed at Inchcape Ford, worked with the RAF to help figure out the tachograph requirements and assisted the RAF in raising funds as Inchcape Ford Farnborough served as a sponsors for the minibus.

Justin Fowler, a wing commander at the RAF Odiham, stated that the RAF was thankful for Inchcape Ford for their help in making this happen, and thanked the RAF Central Funds for the significant grant that was given that helped to fund the purchase.

Peter Johnson of Inchcape Ford stated that since they were located in Farnborough, and in close proximity to the RAF Odiham and Aldershot base, they often encountered numerous personal from the base, so it pleased Inchcape to help them find the minibus that they needed to serve their community.
