Olympic Champion gets Support from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is showing their support Team GB Olympic windsurfer Bryony Shaw by providing the bronze medallist in the 2008 Beijing Olympics with a new Volkswagen Transporter Kombi. Bryony will be using the new VW Transporter Kombi to haul her equipment as she travels to competitions throughout Europe as she prepares for the 2012 Olympics.

Bryony Hall happens to be the top female windsurfer in Britain and number two windsurfer in the RS-X world standings. Recently Bryony took the silver in the 2010 World Cup series and has showed herself to be a medal winner at the Weymouth World Cup competitions during the past four years. This bodes well for Bryony, since Weymouth will be the venue for the 2012 wind surfing and sailing events she will be competing on home waters.

Bryony remarked that the VW Transporter Kombi was the perfect vehicle for her lifestyle and be an extremely valuable tool for her as she goes for the gold in the 2012 Olympics. She complimented the Transporters on being a great vehicle to drive, its comfort when travelling long distances, and for the spaciousness of the Transporter since it provided plenty of space to carry all her equipment. Bryony also said that the VW Transporter looked cool.

Over the course of its 60 years of production, the Volkswagen Transporter as evolved into surfers and windsurfer’s favourite van, the Transporter van has become iconic in its own rites among the surfer culture. In keeping with the tradition of surfer vans, Bryony’s has been custom fitted with a roof spoiler, alloy wheels, colourful graphics that portray her sport and tinted glass.
