1,500 of Swinton Commercial van insurance were surveyed about what they considered to be the most important factors to take into account when buying a van. This survey revealed that 53% of people when buying a van considered the specifications of a van to be of more importance than how the van looks. This shows that a little over half of those surveyed were interested in the practical side of a van when purchasing a van.

When the participants in the survey were asked what they considered to be the most important things to take into consideration when purchasing a van, they gave five things that they thought to be important:
The room inside the van and the space for storage.
The amount of fuel that the van consumes.
The maintenance and the repair cost.
The sum of money that it cost to insure the van.
Tax issues.
Phil Moss, who is the Commercial Vehicle Manager over at Swinton stated that it can be a tricky task picking the right van to take care of business needs and that there are a lot of things to think about including being able to obtain low-cost insurance. He also noted that it is good that their customers are not just picking out a van based on how it looks, but are considering what the van is going to cost them on the long term.
