Lucky Tony Parker recently won quite a prize. Tony is an installer of heating systems who entered a contest held by Wilo to find the oldest circulator pump still in operable condition in a central heating system. This contest held by Wilo has been going on for over nine months and is part of a major awareness crusade to spotlight Wilo’s growth domestic market growth, where it has produced in excess of five million small circulators per year and has the most pumps in combi boilers than any other pump producer throughout Europe.

Tony Parker who works for Parmet Heating found the circulator in the house of an elderly customer Nottingham, the pump was still working after 32 years of use. Upon finding the pump, Tony took a picture of it, took the relevant numbers off the casing and forwarded the information to Wilo. After verifying that the pump was truly the oldest running small circulator discovered during the contest it was determined that Tony was the winner of the prize, a new VW Caddy van, complete with decals. Tony said that he originally entered the contest for a laugh when he found a circulator that was older than any he had ever seen before; however, upon winning he said that he was glad that he took the time to enter.
Wilo is a leading supplier of circulator pumps in Europe, and in fact were the inventor of the first small circulator pump. Since Wilo is one of the leading manufacturers in their field, offering a prize from VW, another leader in their industry made a good combination.
