Isuzu has now completed its line-up of new D-Max models with the 4×2 single and 4×4 single and extended cab variants. Powered by the same 163hp, 2.5 litre turbodiesel engine as the double cab version, with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, the gross payload for the 4×2 single cab is 1,128kg, rising to 1,136kg for the 4×4; the extended cab variant can manage a load of 1,085kg. The extended cab model comprises two half-width, rear opening side doors, which gives access to the rear cab space. There’s also two short-journey seats included which can be folded to provide more storage for tools and equipment.
Though the specification is entry-level, each model includes air-conditioning, electric windows, front, side and curtain airbags, radio/CD player and daytime running lights as standard. As for pricing, the 4×2 single cab comes in at £13,729, while the 4×4 version will set you back £15,479; the extended cab model retails at £15,979. The standard 5 year/125,000 mile warranty also comes with every variant.
