The Chancellor announced yesterday that the proposed increase in fuel duty by 3 pence would not go ahead in August. It has been postponed until 2013, with fuel duty prices frozen until then.
However, despite relief that the price hike has not gone ahead, some motoring organisations still hold fears about future price increases. The European fuel market prices still sit at an alarmingly lower rate than Britain’s- organisations fear that this is bad for business; an unlevel playing field throughout Europe could put Britain at a disadvantage.
