Kia has added yet another award to their trophy case, the Practical Caravan-What Car? Towcar award. The Kia Sedona has been a popular model among caravanner’s for quite some time, and now has been named the Practical Caravan-What Car? title winner. The super towing capabilities of the Sedona’s new 2.2 litre diesel motor coupled with its six-speed automatic transmission won over the judging panel for the award.

The Practical Caravan-What Car? awards are regarded to be the toughest towcar competition that puts the candidates through a thorough regimen of testing; the Kia Sedona 2.2CRDi was praised its capabilities. The editor of Towcar, David Motten praised the Sedona for its new, more powerful engine that together with its six-speed gearbox presents a car, that is a lot of car for the price that can tow just about anything. Additionally, Practical Caravan’s editor, Nigel Donnelly commented that it was clear from the tests that when a Sedona is towing something, it stays right on the intended course being driven, something that is important for a caravan owner.
In addition to its towing capabilities, the Kia Sedona is known for its large interior that provides seven full size seats without taking away leg or elbow room. The Sedona also comes with standard specifications that resemble the option packages on the competition. Options such as electrically powered side doors and tailgate, a backing up camera with a viewing screen in the rear view mirror, iPod compatible, front and rear adjustable climate control system, and safety provisions that include frontal, side, as well as full curtain airbags.
