Ford Transit Gets New AA Business

The AA will be using Ford Transits to field their Windshield fleet. Ford’s Southampton plant has delivered more than 56 of their Ford Transit short-wheelbase models to AA for their Auto Windshields fleet.

Steve Ives, AA’s chief engineer inspected the Ford Transits at Southampton and reported that he found the vans in top shape and that the vans were ready to be signed off. Ives confirmed that the vans were on their way to equipped with the needed equipment and livery and that it would not be long until the vans became an integral component of AA Auto Windshields fleet.

Ford’s Southampton plant manager, Thomas Fischer explained how that Southampton plant really tried hard to provide a quality Ford Transit with the vehicles that they built at Southampton and that Ford was pleased that AA had chose to place more orders with us. Fisher attributed the Transit’s dependability and the low whole life cost as the reasons behind AA choosing the Ford Transit.

The AA acquired Auto Windshields in the previous year and currently is working on expanding the company and the fleet. The Transit vans that were received to Auto Windshields are part of an order for 247 of the vans that AA ordered this year. The majority of the Ford Transits will be utilized for roadside repairs and for recovery jobs.

The director of commercial vehicles for Ford of Britain, Steve Clary commented that the AA had picked Ford to meet the current customer needs and for the expansion of their business as well, which is an endorsement for the reputation of the Transit- a van that is reliable and one that gets the job done.
