From Brentwood, Essex October 28th, 2010 – Ford will show for the first time their new Transit Connect Electric at the very first RAC Future Car Challenge, a vibrant event that will be a display place for electric vehicles and hybrid and low emissions vehicles as well.

There will be three vehicles from Ford participating in the RAC event that receives support from the Royal Automobile Club that is offering a reward to the competitors who use the least amount of energy on the 60-mile trek. The trek will be from Madeira Drive in Brighton to Regent Street in London. In addition to the Ford Transit connect in the RAC event; Ford will also have ECOnetic versions of their Ford Fiesta van and their Ford Focus. Both of these Ford vehicles emit emissions under 100g/km and get over 70mpg.
The RAC Future Car Challenge will be held before the RAC Veteran Car Run and will follow the same route used for the Veteran Car Run, only in reverse. The Future car Challenge will conclude among the veteran cars that will be displayed on Regent Street.
The event takes place ahead of the famous RAC Veteran Car Run and uses the identical route, but in reverse, with the Future Car Challenge ending among the veteran cars on display in Regent Street
