Friday, June 11 2010

Robert Moskovits, a dog comedian, has been refused insurance cover after it transpires that his occupation is not recognised by the Association of British Insurers.

Mr Moskovits, who has been a dog comedian has been searching without success for cover for 2 months. He said “Im a comedian for dogs. People bring their dogs to me and I make them laugh for a couple of hours before sending them home again. I provide an invaluable service to owners of dogs that may be depressed or just in need of a laugh. Yes its an unusual occupation but Im in demand all the time and am booked out for the next month”.

An industry expert commented that whilst Mr Moskovits, 36, was technically a comedian, the fact that it is not for human audiences precludes him from being seen as being in the entertainment industry.

This is not the first time Mr Moskovits has struggle to find insurance. In 2000 another business he owned in the pharmecutical industry was also not insurable due to the nature of its business – providing anti depressants to sick cats.

Robert Moskovits was raised in Los Angeles where he became an internet millionaire by the time he was 30 with a business in the film industry. He is happily married to his wife, Tracy and resides with her and their disabled son, David, who is 6 years old.
