CV Registrations Increase in the European Union

In the latest set of numbers released from ACEA, it was revealed that the amount of new commercial vehicles registered in the EURO last month was up by 8.8% when compared to the same period last year.

This is the first time that commercial vehicle registrations have increased in nearly two years. ACEA’s figures reveal that registrations for vans rose by 12.4%, a total of 160,980 units, while the registrations for heavy trucks that were over 16 tonnes decreased by 15.9%, a total of 14,087 units. All freight vehicles that exceeded 3.5 tonnes, not counting buses and coaches, decreased by 10.1%, a total of 22,040 units. New bus and coach registrations also experienced a downturn as they fell 3.4%, a total of 3,449 units in the month of March.

The United Kingdom’s market reported the most vehicles and also the greatest year-to-year increase, as it rose 28.0%.  ACEA is the European Auto Industry Body,
