BCA Pulse: The Price of Fleet Van are Still on the Rise

Astrong demand for used vans continues to drive the prices higher in the used van market; March 2010 seen the second highest average value on the books, this revealed by the most recent Pulse Report.

During the month of March, the prices of used LCV’s were on average £4,500, which was a decrease of £85 or 1.8 per cent in comparison to February’s numbers. In spite of this, the values of fleet/lease increased by £19 to a level of £5,126, which set a new record value. The value of nearly new vans rose by £371 to a level of £10,036, even though volume levels were low for the month. The values of Part-exchanges decreased by £176, from £2,819 to a value £2,643, which amounted to a decrease of 6.2 per cent.

The price of vans for the quarter was an average price of £4,507, which showed sizable increase of £593 or 15.15 per cent in comparison to the price recorded in 2009 of £3,914.  With the prices in the first quarter 09 being on average just £3,182, the year-on-year prices were up by £1,325, which amounts to a 41.6 per cent rise over the year.

In correlation with the strong price figures, CAP numbers for March showed strength, going from 101.67 per cent across the board to 102.28 per cent. All of the major sectors showed average CAP prices that were above 100 per cent.
