Although the official launch of the new Volkswagen Transporter is in January 2010, people can now place their order for the latest edition in the Transporter range.
Van insurance from The Van Insurer
The new Transporter is equipped with Euro-five common rail TDI engines that run quieter, are more fuel-efficient and raises the bar in the LCV group for quality and refinement. The four-cylinder TDI engines add more power and a greater torque level than previous engines, and also have a longer service interval up to a maximum of 25,000 miles, this is an extension of 7000 miles from its predecessors.
The Transporter, which has been in production for 60 years as of next year, will continue to provide a selection of panel vans, chassis cabs, shuttles, and window vans for transporting people that seat up to nine people. There is a new kombi model that has a rear bench seat that has a folding and a removable option that can seat six people and carry a load in the rear. This used to be only an option pack but since it is so popular has now become a model itself. This model is taxed commercial with a N1 classification.
As well as mechanical changes and aesthetic changes, there are some important safety changes that are standard on all models.
There is a seatbelt warning to serve as a reminder to drivers to buckle up.
There is an option to deactivate the airbag for a child’s safety.
There are new lighting features, such as daytime running lights, brake lights that flash under heavy braking and set off the hazard warning if the van comes to a stop.
